This game was made for the GMTK Game Jam 2023, with the theme "Roles Reversed".

SCOREBOARD is a game where the computer does all the playing, and you are in charge of making sure the points add up to an accurate score.

Use the keyboard to add points, and every few seconds the system will check your accuracy and whether you can proceed.

Easy in theory, hard in practice. Can you make it all the way to the end?

Controls

This game uses the keyboard to add points to the score counter while the computer plays the game.

[1] adds 100 points
[2] adds 200 points
[.] adds 50 points

Holding [-] or [+] will slide the score up or down, and is the only way to subtract points from the score counter if you worry you have added too many.

Notes

Yes, this game does have a definite end, if you can get past the Mayhem mode in its final stage.

Key moments to help you gauge your progress:

  • You're just before halfway when the first "x2" arrives,
  • 75% through on the second "x2",
  • 90% when "Mayhem" kicks in.

Sadly, there is no cheat code to cruise you through or reveal the true score on the side panel as you play. Happy to add something in if there's demand for it.

If you find this game way too easy and need a bigger challenge, try play it using only the - and + slide control keys!

Very nice idea. The game functions very well. We don't have any idea of where we are in the progression, though. Maybe add a progression bar in a future version?

Thanks :) That's a really good idea, I'll add it in once the jam is done and we can edit again.
